Meissen Kakiemon Cup and Saucer
Antique 18th Century Porcelain Meissen Kakiemon Cup and Saucer
Rare and gorgeous most sort out for cup and saucer made by Meissen in the early 19th century. It is hand painted with superb detail with a Kakiemon design and a neat blue ground color. A rare shape as well since it is what is called quatrefoil (kind of like a clover when you look at it from the top down). It is a very uncommon colour in style of cup and this decoration makes it top of the line. Even the bottom of the saucer is decorated the same way and there is a flower in the inside of the cup - a tell tale sign of quality. The set is in perfect condition with some black firing spots on the inside of the cup typical of the early days. Both are marked with the under glaze blue crossed swords mark underneath.
